The Shreveport Sports of the American Association ended the 2006 season with a record of 54 wins and 39 losses, finishing second in the league's South Division.

The Sports paced the league with just 382 runs allowed. Shreveport scored 512 runs. Chad Gambill led the team with 10 home runs and drove in 74 runs. Al Corbeil topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .332 clip. Eric Wikstrom paced the squad with 11 wins, while Bert Snow earned a 3.13 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Todd Self played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Shreveport Sports to do so.

Bob Flori served as manager.
