The Tri-City Atoms of the Northwest League ended the 1961 season with a record of 49 wins and 90 losses, finishing sixth in the NWL.
The Atoms plated 568 runs and conceded 777 runs, most in the league. Raynor Youngdahl paced Tri-City with 28 home runs, and Wally O'Neil walloped 15 or more, too. Wally O'Neil drove in 93 runs. Jerry Gilbert led all regular hitters by hitting .300. Frederick Rick topped the squad with 13 wins and a team-best 4.19 earned run average, leading qualifying pitchers.
Milt Smith and Gordie Sundin both played in Major League Baseball during their careers.
