The Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League ended the 2009 season with a record of 74 wins and 70 losses, finishing first in the league's North Division of the Pacific Conference.

The Rainiers plated 778 runs and allowed 762 runs. Bryan LaHair paced Tacoma with 26 home runs, while Mike Carp, Prentice Redman, Brad Nelson and Chris Shelton each walloped 15 or more also. Bryan LaHair and Chris Shelton each drove in 85 runs. Jerry Owens led all regular batters by hitting .323. Gaby Hernandez topped the squad with 10 wins, and Chris Seddon recorded a 4.53 ERA, leading qualifying pitchers.
