The Tennessee Smokies of the Southern League ended the 2009 season with a record of 71 wins and 69 losses, finishing first in the league's North Division.

The Smokies scored 591 runs and allowed 610 runs. Tyler Colvin led Tennessee with 14 home runs Ty Wright recorded 58 runs batted in. Jim Adduci paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .300 clip. Casey Coleman topped the team with 14 wins and a team-best 3.68 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
