The Yakult Swallows of the Japan Central League ended the 2004 season with a record of 72 wins and 64 losses, finishing second in the JPCL.

The Swallows plated 618 runs, worst in the circuit, and allowed 691 runs. Akinori Iwamura walloped 44 home runs for Yakult, while Atsuya Furuta, Atsunori Inaba, Alex Ramírez and Ken Suzuki each swatted 15 or more as well. Alex Ramírez drove in 110 runs. Atsuya Furuta led all regular hitters by hitting .306. Masanori Ishikawa topped the squad with 11 wins, and Ryo Kawashima recorded a 3.17 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Tony Mounce, Jason Beverlin, Nori Aoki, Alex Ramírez, Dicky Gonzalez, Ryota Igarashi and Akinori Iwamura were all players from the 2004 Yakult Swallows who played in the Majors during their careers.
