The Indians scored 655 runs and surrendered 654 runs. Walt Bond and Ken Kraynak paced Reading with 16 home runs apiece., and Miguel de la Hoz walloped 15 or more also. Walt Bond recorded 82 runs batted in. Dave Mann topped all regular batters by hitting .318. Julio Guerra led the team with 14 wins and a team-best 3.27 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.
