Giorgio Chinaglia scored 20 goals for the squad, while Julio Cesar Romero, Steve Moyers, Steve Hunt, Roberto Cabanas and Chico Borja each netted five or more also. Vladislav Bogicevic recorded 24 assists. Hubert Birkenmeier earned a 1.03 goals against average, leading goalkeepers with enough qualifying appearances.

Julio Mazzei coached the team. The 1982 New York Cosmos won the Championship.
