Donovan Stadium

Also Known As: Murnane Field 1977-1990
Location: Utica, NY
1700 Sunset Avenue.
Capacity: 2,000 (1988); 4,500 (1995)
Dimensions (Left, Center, Right): 363-380-290 (1977); 330-400-290 (1995)
The park was originally used for high school sports. It is named for Charles F. Murnane, a coach and athletic director in Utica high schools, who died in 1939. Later the park was renamed for State Senator James Donovan who secured funds for improvements to the field and grandstand, after he died. The RF fence was over 20 feet high, Utica's version of the 'green monster;' the actual distance was believed to be more like 260 to 270 than the listed 290.
Used by: Utica Blue Jays, Utica Blue Sox
