Neil Park, named for Robert Neil, was originally built in 1900. The facility was renovated in 1905, with a concrete, double-decked grandstand. The old wooden grandstand from Columbus Central Athletic Park was dismantled and rebuilt into bleachers for Neil Park. The catcher originally faced SE, and later, SW. Re-opened April 15, 1905, Neil Park was the first concrete and steel stadium in organized baseball; there would not be a similar stadium in the major leagues until the opening of Forbes Field in 1909.
Used by: Columbus Senators, Columbus Cubs, Columbus Red Birds
