McCurdy Park

Opened May 16, 1924 to an overflow 2,900 crowd, McCurdy Park was named for Dr. Ira McCurdy, a partner in Frederick's team in the Blue Ridge League. Built for $15,000 in 1924, the park underwent $200,000 of revisions in 1974. The park was the temporary home for the Carolina League team until Harry Grove Stadium was built. Very temporary, as a trailer was brought in for the dressing rooms.
