The Braves plated 628 runs and allowed 730 runs, most in the league. Hank Aaron walloped 34 home runs for Atlanta, while Earl Williams, Dusty Baker and Darrell Evans each swatted 20 or more also. Earl Williams drove in 87 runs. Ralph Garr led all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .325. Phil Niekro topped the team with 16 wins and a team-best 3.06 ERA, leading regularly-used pitchers.

Lum Harris and Eddie Mathews coached the team.
