Barry Bonds drove in 90 runs. Marquis Grissom paced all regular hitters with a .300 average. Jason Schmidt topped the team with 17 wins and a team-best 2.34 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.

Felipe Alou coached the team. The 2003 San Francisco Giants qualified for the playoffs as a division winner.
