The defense proved to be a force, as the Browns paced the league with just 152 points allowed. Cleveland scored 331 points. Dub Jones ran for a team-leading 492 yards, while Ken Carpenter also buoyed the ground attack.
Otto Graham passed for 2,205 yards. Dante Lavelli topped pass catchers, snagging 43 passes, while Mac Speedie added 589 receiving yards. Dub Jones was targeted regularly as well.
The ball-hawking defense manufactured 51 turnovers. Cliff Lewis and Warren Lahr each snatched 5 errant tosses from the opposition.
Paul Brown coached the team. The 1951 Cleveland Browns lost in the Championship.
