The New England Whalers of the World Hockey Association ended the 1975-76 season with a record of 33 wins and 40 losses and 7 ties for 73 points, finishing third in the WHA's WHA East Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 10-7.
The Whalers scored 255 goals and allowed 290. Tom Webster netted 33 goals for New England and contributed 50 assists. Christer Abrahamsson topped the squad with 18 wins and a team-best 3.42 goals against average, pacing goaltenders with enough qualifying appearances.
Jack Kelley, Don Blackburn and Harry Neale coached the team. The 1975-76 New England Whalers lost in the AVCO Cup semi-finals.
