The Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League ended the 2003 season with a record of 74 wins and 65 losses, finishing fourth in the league's Southern Division.

The Tourists led the circuit with 707 runs, sparked by 126 home runs. Asheville surrendered 643 runs. Jeff Salazar paced the team with 29 home runs, while Nick Gretz and Ryan Spilborghs walloped 15 or more, too. Jeff Salazar drove in 98 runs. Jeff Salazar and Bernie Gonzalez topped hitters with significant playing time by connecting at a .284 clip. Doug Johnson and Rich Cartier paced the squad with 12 wins each, and Ben Crockett recorded a 2.5 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Kit Pellow, Alvin Colina, Jeff Salazar, Ubaldo Jiménez, Darren Clarke, Jeff Baker and Ryan Spilborghs were all players from the 2003 Asheville Tourists who played in the Majors during their careers.
