The Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League ended the 2017 season with a record of 75 wins and 65 losses, finishing second in the league's West Division.

The Kernels scored 591 runs and surrendered 514 runs. Travis Blankenhorn led Cedar Rapids with 13 home runs and recorded 69 runs batted in. Lewin Díaz paced hitters with significant playing time with a .292 average. Clark Beeker topped the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 2.04 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
