The Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League ended the 2009 season with a record of 94 wins and 46 losses, finishing first in the league's Eastern Division.

The TinCaps topped the league with 736 runs. Fort Wayne allowed 552 runs, least in the league. Jaff Decker paced the team with 16 home runs Dan Robertson drove in 65 runs and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .296 clip. Erik Davis led the squad with 16 wins, while Simón Castro recorded a 3.34 ERA, tops among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
