The Hawaii Islanders of the Pacific Coast League ended the 1961 season with a record of 68 wins and 86 losses, finishing sixth in the PCL.

The Islanders tallied 729 runs and conceded 838 runs, most in the league. Bobby Prescott walloped 32 home runs for Hawaii, while Jim McManus and Carlos Bernier swatted 15 or more, too. Bobby Prescott accounted for 100 RBI. Carlos Bernier paced hitters with significant playing time by hitting .351. Dave Thies topped the team with 15 wins and a team-best 4.02 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
