The High Desert Mavericks of the California League ended the 2009 season with a record of 83 wins and 57 losses, finishing first in the league's South Division.

The Mavericks scored 860 runs, best in the league. High Desert yielded 806 runs. Carlos Peguero walloped 31 home runs for the team, while Travis Scott, Alex Liddi and Joe Dunigan each swatted 15 or more, too. Alex Liddi and Joe Dunigan each accounted for 104 RBI. Alex Liddi led all regular batters with a .345 average. Donald Hume topped the team with 17 wins, and Jake Wild earned a 4.09 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
