The Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League ended the 2005 season with a record of 71 wins and 66 losses, finishing fourth in the league's North Division.

The Suns scored 692 runs and surrendered 664 runs. Mike Carp and Grant Psomas led Hagerstown with 19 home runs apiece., and Ambiorix Concepcion walloped 15 or more as well. Mike Carp recorded 63 runs batted in. Carlos Gómez paced all regular hitters by hitting .275. Jose Sanchez topped the squad with 11 wins, while Michael Devaney registered a 3.88 earned run average, best among regular hurlers.
