The Lancaster JetHawks of the California League ended the 2000 season with a record of 89 wins and 51 losses, finishing first in the league's South Division.

The JetHawks topped the league with 933 runs, spearheaded by 119 home runs. Lancaster allowed 721 runs. Juan Silvestre walloped 30 home runs for the team, while Craig Kuzmic and Antonio Pérez swatted 15 or more, too. Juan Silvestre accounted for 137 RBI. Terrmel Sledge paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .339 clip. Jeff Heaverlo led the team with 14 wins and a team-best 4.23 ERA, best among qualifying pitchers.
