The Lynchburg White Sox of the Carolina League ended the 1968 season with a record of 68 wins and 72 losses, finishing third in the league's West Division.

The White Sox scored 544 runs and allowed 562 runs. John Matias and Carlos May led Lynchburg with 13 home runs apiece. Carlos May drove in 74 runs and topped batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .330 clip. Eddie Smith paced the team with 16 wins and a team-best 2.39 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Chuck Brinkman, Al Fitzmorris, Ron Lolich, John Matias, Carlos May, Rich Severson and Bob Spence were all players from the 1968 Lynchburg White Sox who played in the Majors during their careers.
