The Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the New York-Pennsylvania League ended the 2004 season with a record of 42 wins and 34 losses, finishing second in the league's Pinckney Division.

The Scrappers tallied 389 runs and allowed 371 runs. Chris Gimenez paced Mahoning Valley with 10 home runs Wyatt Toregas drove in 48 runs. Mike Butia led all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .315, while Ryan Knippschild registered a 3.96 earned run average, leading hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Scott Lewis, Chris Gimenez, Tony Sipp, Wyatt Toregas, Aaron Laffey, Brian Tallet, Argenis Reyes, Lou Merloni and Mike Porzio were all players from the 2004 Mahoning Valley Scrappers who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
