The Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League ended the 2009 season with a record of 81 wins and 57 losses, finishing first in the league's Western Division.

The Chiefs scored 701 runs and yielded 555 runs. Ryan Flaherty led Peoria with 20 home runs, while Josh Vitters, Rebel Ridling and Kyler Burke each walloped 15 or more, too. Rebel Ridling drove in 97 runs and topped all regular batters with a .310 average. Aaron Shafer paced the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 4.5 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
