The Peninsula Grays of the Carolina League ended the 1965 season with a record of 86 wins and 58 losses, finishing first in the league's East Division.

The Grays paced the league with 705 runs. Peninsula surrendered 593 runs. Stan Swanson powered the team with 19 home runs, and Clyde Mashore walloped 15 or more, too. Alfred Cosgrove accounted for 84 RBI. Teolindo Acosta topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .336. Jim Morio led the squad with 16 wins, while Bernard Kazakavich earned a 1.97 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
