The Portsmouth- Tides scored 614 runs and allowed 822 runs, most in the circuit. Ron Cox led Norfolk with 23 home runs, while Frank Waite, Marty Beltran and Salvador Betancourt each walloped 15 or more, too. Ron Cox recorded 93 runs batted in. Marty Beltran paced batters with significant playing time by hitting .309. Marv Mecklenburg topped the team with 14 wins, and Dennis Aust recorded a 3.62 ERA, tops among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
