The Salt Lake Buzz of the Pacific Coast League ended the 2000 season with a record of 90 wins and 53 losses, finishing first in the league's North Division of the Pacific Conference.

The Buzz topped the league with 1016 runs, ignited by 185 home runs. Salt Lake yielded 795 runs. Brian Buchanan paced the team with 27 home runs, while Mario Valdez, Torii Hunter and Doug Mientkiewicz each walloped 15 or more as well. Brian Buchanan accounted for 103 RBI. John Barnes led all regular hitters by hitting .365. Gus Gandarillas, Dan Perkins and Jason Ryan paced the squad with 9 wins each, and Dan Perkins recorded a 7.34 ERA, tops among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
