The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League ended the 2009 season with a record of 79 wins and 61 losses, finishing first in the league's Liberty Division.

The Blue Crabs tallied 759 runs and gave up 629 runs. Jeremy Owens paced Southern Maryland with 28 home runs, while Travis Garcia, James Shanks and John Ramistella each walloped 15 or more also. James Shanks drove in 93 runs and topped all regular batters by connecting at a .293 clip. Ryan Bicondoa led the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 4.66 ERA, leading regular hurlers.
