The Winston-Salem Warthogs of the Carolina League ended the 2003 season with a record of 71 wins and 67 losses, finishing third in the league's Southern Division.

The Warthogs scored 574 runs and allowed 542 runs. Brian Becker led Winston-Salem with 19 home runs, and Eric Welsh walloped 15 or more, too. Brian Becker drove in 72 runs. Ruddy Yan topped all regular hitters with a .264 average. Ryan Wing and Kris Honel paced the team with 9 wins each, while Ryan Wing earned a 2.98 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.
