The Erie Sailors of the New York-Pennsylvania League ended the 1958 season with a record of 53 wins and 72 losses, finishing seventh in the NYPL.

The Sailors scored 595 runs and surrendered 653 runs. William Maupin paced Erie with 14 home runs Frank Jaciuk drove in 59 runs. Wilber Risser led hitters with significant playing time with a .319 average. Thomas Trammel, Dick Egan and Pete Pekich topped the squad with 10 wins each, while Pete Pekich recorded a 3.44 ERA, tops among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
