The sticky-fingered defense manufactured 67 turnovers. Darnell Clash intercepted 9 opponent throws. Mike Gray led the defensive unit with 13 quarterback sacks, topping a defense credited with 66 sacks.

Don Matthews coached the team. The 1985 BC Lions won the Grey Cup.
