The BC Lions of the Canadian Football League ended the 1986 season with a record of 12 wins and 6 losses for 24 points, finishing second in the CFL's West Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 1-1.

The Lions scored 441 points, while the defensive squad allowed 410. Roy Dewalt directed the offense, slinging for 4,057 yards. Jim Sandusky topped pass catchers, grabbing 60 passes, while Mervyn Fernandez added 865 receiving yards. Ned Armour, John Pankratz and Jan Carinci each provided receiving help, too.

Keyvan Jenkins carried the ball for a team-leading 496 yards for BC, and John White also contributed to the rushing attack.

The larcenous defense pounced on 78 turnovers, topping in the league. Larry Crawford intercepted 9 opponent throws. James Parker led the defensive unit with 22 quarterback sacks, helping propel the defense to an overall total of 78 sacks.
