The Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League ended the 1985 season with a record of 13 wins and 4 losses and 1 ties, finishing first in the USFL's Western Conference.
The Invaders moved the ball well, scoring 473 points, and the defensive squad gave up 359. Bobby Hebert directed the offense, passing for 3,811 yards. Anthony Carter paced the receiving corps, snagging 70 passes for 1,323 yards, while Gordon Banks contributed to the receiving game, too.
Albert Bentley ran for a team-best 1,020 yards for Oakland, while John Williams also buoyed the ground attack.
Vito McKeever and Derrick Martin each picked off 6 opponent throws. Angelo Snipes topped the defensive unit with 11.5 quarterback sacks, topping a defense credited with 56 sacks.
Charlie Sumner coached the team. The 1985 Oakland Invaders lost in the Championship.
