The Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League ended the 1959 season with a record of 70 wins and 70 losses, finishing fifth in the SAL.
The Tourists topped the circuit with 669 runs, fueled by 112 home runs. Asheville allowed 712 runs, most in the league. Barton Dupon paced the squad with 20 home runs, while Harry Fisher walloped 15 or more, too. Barton Dupon drove in 63 runs. Nathan Dickerson topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .362 clip. Jack Taylor led the team with 18 wins, and Earl Hunsinger registered a 3.09 earned run average, leading regularly-used pitchers.
