The Asheville Tourists of the Western Carolinas League ended the 1976 season with a record of 76 wins and 62 losses, finishing first in the WCL.

The Tourists scored 822 runs, best in the league. Asheville yielded 696 runs. Pat Putnam led the team with 24 home runs, while Rick Lisi walloped 15 or more as well. Pat Putnam drove in 142 runs and topped all regular batters by connecting at a .361 clip. Harold Kelly paced the squad with 13 wins and a team-best 3.02 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Pat Putnam, Danny Darwin, Paul Mirabella, Eddie Miller, Mike Griffin, LaRue Washington and Rick Lisi were all players from the 1976 Asheville Tourists who played in the Majors during their careers.

Wayne Terwilliger served as manager.
