The Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League ended the 1980 season with a record of 69 wins and 71 losses, finishing third in the league's North Division.
The Tourists scored 735 runs and allowed 761 runs. Pete O'Brien paced Asheville with 17 home runs and drove in 94 runs. Donnie Scott and Pete O'Brien topped hitters with significant playing time by connecting at a .295 clip. Tony Fossas led the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 3.15 ERA, tops among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
