The Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League ended the 2004 season with a record of 76 wins and 63 losses, finishing second in the league's South Division.

The RiverDogs scored 733 runs and yielded 666 runs. Delmon Young led Charleston with 25 home runs, while Wes Bankston and Jason Pridie walloped 15 or more as well. Delmon Young drove in 115 runs and topped batters with significant playing time with a .322 average. Tony Peguero and Brian Bulger paced the squad with 10 wins each, and Tony Peguero recorded a 3.32 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
