The Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League ended the 2003 season with a record of 82 wins and 54 losses, finishing first in the league's Southern Division.

The Crawdads scored 622 runs and allowed 532 runs. Brad Eldred led Hickory with 28 home runs, and Chris Bass walloped 15 or more, too. Brad Eldred drove in 80 runs. Rajai Davis paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .305. Jonathan Albaladejo topped the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 3.11 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Zach Duke, Jonathan Albaladejo, Shane Youman, Bryan Bullington, Brad Eldred, Rajai Davis, Juan Carlos Oviedo and Henry Owens were all players from the 2003 Hickory Crawdads who played in the Majors during their careers.
