The Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League ended the 2003 season with a record of 82 wins and 54 losses, finishing first in the league's Southern Division.

The Crawdads scored 622 runs and allowed 532 runs. Brad Eldred led Hickory with 28 home runs, and Chris Bass walloped 20 or more, too. Brad Eldred drove in 80 runs. Rajai Davis paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .305. Jonathan Albaladejo topped the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 3.11 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Henry Owens, Juan Carlos Oviedo, Shane Youman, Jonathan Albaladejo, Bryan Bullington, Zach Duke, Brad Eldred and Rajai Davis were all players from the 2003 Hickory Crawdads who played in the Majors during their careers.
