The Lynchburg Hillcats of the Carolina League ended the 2004 season with a record of 57 wins and 81 losses, finishing third in the league's North Division.

The Hillcats scored 554 runs, worst in the league, and surrendered 604 runs. Brad Eldred led Lynchburg with 21 home runs and drove in 77 runs. Rajai Davis paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .314 clip. Zach Duke topped the squad with 10 wins, while Nick Gravelle recorded a 3.63 ERA, tops among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Jonathan Albaladejo, Rajai Davis, Zach Duke, Brad Eldred, Tom Gorzelanny, Paul Maholm, Henry Owens and Shane Youman were all players from the 2004 Lynchburg Hillcats who played in the Majors during their careers.

Jay Loviglio and Tom Prince served as manager.
