The Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Eastern League ended the 2012 season with a record of 70 wins and 71 losses, finishing fourth in the league's Western Division.

The Flying Squirrels tallied 519 runs, worst in the circuit, and yielded 556 runs. Johnny Monell and Juan Pérez paced Richmond with 11 home runs apiece. Daniel Mayora drove in 57 runs. Juan Pérez led all regular batters by hitting .302. Mike Kickham and Craig Westcott topped the squad with 11 wins each, while Chris Heston recorded a 2.25 ERA, leading regular hurlers.
