The San Antonio Missions of the Texas League ended the 1988 season with a record of 73 wins and 60 losses, finishing second in the league's West Division.

The Missions scored 570 runs and allowed 571 runs. Walt McConnell led San Antonio with 11 home runs Luis Lopez drove in 65 runs. Mike Huff topped all regular batters with a .304 average. John Wetteland paced the squad with 10 wins, while Greg LaFever recorded a 3.49 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
