Opened May 2, 1929, the stadium was built in 1928 and refurbished in 1988. The catcher faced SE. The park was renamed Silver Stadium in honor of Morris Silver, who had twice saved the team from bankruptcy. The stadium is now located on Silver Stadium Drive. The original stadium building costs were $275,000.
